Ph.D. candidate Ally Thompson, advised by Umesh Desai, Ph.D., successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation, "Development and Applications of Glycosaminoglycan Microarray Technology," on April 10.

Dr. Thompson has already published two major first-author papers from her work (Carbohydrate Polymers & ACS Chem Biol) and has two more to submit in the next couple of months. "Ally is incredibly talented and highly perseverent – key qualities critical for success anywhere," said Dr. Desai.
