Nitai Sarkar, Ph.D., completed his doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry from the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. After that, he joined the pharmaceutical industry (SAI Life Sciences Ltd.) and worked on a number of projects involving the design and synthesis of targeted libraries, the preparation of building blocks and the synthesis of analogues to support lead generation, optimization, and most importantly, the delivery of the molecules within the difficult time frame. Currently, Sarkar is working as a postdoctoral fellow and exploring the antidepressant effects of alpha-methyltryptamine under Malgorzata Dukat, Ph.D.
