Summer Academic Enrichment Program
For college juniors and seniors, and post-baccalaureate students
Overview
SAEP is a six-week summer residential program that simulates the first year of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or physical therapy professional school instruction. During the six weeks, college-level participants take anatomy, pharmacology and physiology. SAEP participants in the pharmacy track conduct compounding labs, attend application prep workshops, participate in mock interviews, receive one-on-one coaching and provide care at community service events in an interprofessional framework. At the conclusion of SAEP, participants receive an assessment from admissions faculty of their readiness to attend professional school. Many pharmacy track students later attend VCU School of Pharmacy’s Pharm.D. program.
