Preceptors
Precepting in pharmacy connects our Pharm.D. students with experienced practitioners who mentor and supervise them during clinical rotations.
This hands-on training is essential for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice.
Benefits
Precepting offers numerous benefits, including enhancing students' clinical skills, fostering professional development and providing preceptors with opportunities to stay current with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice. It contributes to a robust professional network and improvements in health care quality by preparing competent and confident future pharmacists.
VCU School of Pharmacy preceptors are given library access and access to LexiComp and CEImpact, which offers training on topics of interest to preceptors. Preceptors are also invited to events held by the Center for Pharmacy Practice Innovation and receive updates from the Office of Experiential Education.
