With this joint accreditation, we offer interprofessional programming across medicine, nursing and pharmacy.

Teaching and Learning Certificate

Many residents graduating from pharmacy residency programs will choose careers with teaching responsibilities, including but not limited to, precepting and lecturing. The VCU Teaching and Learning Certificate program provides formal training that prepares pharmacy residents in programs across Virginia for this educator role in both the experiential and didactic settings.

This program offers a hybrid approach. Residents are able to complete most of their activities at their affiliated site. On-site activities include an introductory daylong teaching seminar, teaching in our Foundations courses and an optional didactic lecture. All other components are offered virtually or through coordination of activities at the resident's place of employment.

This program is free and open to pharmacy residents across Virginia.

Our certificate program in 2024 enrolled 65 residents in 19 programs across Virginia to further their teaching and learning skills.
