Scholarships
77% of our students have received at least one scholarship in the last academic year.
Prospective Students
VCU has university-level scholarships for incoming first-year, out-of-state and transfer students. You can also connect with Student Financial Services on external scholarships and to learn about graduate funding opportunities.
Current Students
VCU’s School of Pharmacy awards more than $2 million annually in scholarships to current students. Our scholarship awards are established by alumni, individuals and organizations, and recognize factors such as financial need, academic achievement, service and leadership. These scholarships are a form of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Scholarships for current students include awards offered at the time of admission and those awarded to continuing students through an annual scholarship application process.
How to Apply
Applications open every fall. To be considered, current students must complete the scholarship application (link below). To be considered for need-based scholarships, students must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Virginia Alternative State Aid Application (VASA) on file in addition to the scholarship application.

Typically, awards are applied to your account by a few weeks into the semester. Processing timelines can vary — we cannot guarantee when your award will be processed.
Awards will be delivered via VCU Financial Aid. As with all financial aid, scholarships are subject to federal and state rules. Receiving a scholarship could affect your financial aid package. If you have questions, please contact your VCU Student Financial Services advisor and reference your award specifically.
Your scholarship will be credited to any balance owed on your student account. If there is no balance on your account, you will receive your scholarship as a refund. If you have direct deposit set up with Financial Aid, you will receive it that way. If you do not have direct deposit, you will receive a mailed check to your address on file with VCU.
To set up direct deposit with Financial Aid, follow the steps on VCU Treasury Services' Direct Deposit of Financial Aid page.
It depends on the requirements of your specific scholarship. Contact DaNika Robinson, Ed.D., associate dean for finance and administration, at drobinson5@vcu.edu to learn more about your scholarship's requirements.
