Nick Williams, Ed.D., serves as director of alumni engagement for the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he leads inclusive, mission-aligned strategies that strengthen alumni relationships and advance the school’s long-term impact and professional community.
Williams began his career at VCU in June 2020 in the Student Financial Management Center as lead financial counselor, supporting students and families through complex financial decision-making. In 2021, he joined the VCU School of Business as assistant director of student engagement, where he led high-impact engagement initiatives, supported student organizations and leadership development and partnered across campus to enhance student belonging and persistence. He now brings this student-centered foundation into alumni engagement, supporting lifelong connection to the School of Pharmacy and the profession.
With more than ten years of experience in higher education, Williams has worked across student engagement, student success and alumni relations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia (2014), a Master of Education in student affairs from the University of Virginia (2015) and an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University (2024). He remains actively engaged with his alma maters, serving on multiple alumni boards, and gives back to his local community through his church, The Life Church.
Originally from Washington, D.C., Williams enjoys cooking and exploring Richmond’s vibrant food scene, finding connection and creativity through food.
