His research aims to develop and apply methodology for identifying biomarkers to improve disease understanding and match individual patients to the most effective and safe medication. Examples of ongoing projects include efforts to find methylation markers to predict chronic depression and health consequences of childhood adversity, optimizing methods to perform whole methylome studies in brain, data integration, and finding biomarkers to predict response to medications used to treat mental disorders.
