David A. Holdford, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond. His research and scholarship explores how pharmacists can use the tools of business to advance the practice of pharmacy.

Holdford has authored and edited several books including Leadership for Pharmacists: Facilitating Change in Pharmacy Practice (APhA), Introduction to Acute and Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice (ASHP), and Marketing for Pharmacists: Providing and Promoting Pharmacy Services (APhA). He is a recipient of the AACP Distinguished Teaching Scholar Award and the AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award.
