Gioia N. Casso, M.B.A.
Gioia Casso earned an M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration from Liberty University, 2014, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management in 2011 from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Research Project Manager for the Center for Biomarker Research and Precision Medicine (CBRPM). As a Research Project Manager Gioia performs many tasks, including project management, maintaining and updating financial documentation logs, preparation of IRB applications and keeping up-to-date with VCU standards and procedures. She assists in the submission of scientific manuscripts written by the Center’s researchers, as well as the submission of grants on the RAMS-SPOT system. In addition Casso is responsible for weekly maintenance of all standard laboratory equipment and scheduling of annual maintenance service calls in order to keep the equipment operating efficiently. She developed a documentation tracking system to improve office efficiency and coordinate laboratory funding and expenses. She is in charge of the laboratory inventory management system (LIMS), and is responsible for maintaining and ordering supplies for the CBRPM laboratories, and arranges for delivery and pick up of parcels and data on the CBRPM’s behalf.
