Educating future pharmacists at the only pharmacy school campus in Northern Virginia – less than 15 miles from our nation's capital
The VCU School of Pharmacy Inova Campus, situated on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, offers a dynamic and enriching learning environment where students engage with diverse patient populations. Each academic year, up to 24 Pharm.D. students choose to complete their final two years (P3 and P4) on this campus, benefiting from its strategic proximity to Washington, D.C., and access to a wide array of professional organizations and career opportunities.
Personalized, High-Quality Learning
The Inova Campus provides pharmacy education with a focus on personalized learning. Smaller class sizes mean an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, enhancing individualized support. Students stay connected with the health sciences campus in Richmond through online activities. Students continue their interprofessional education with students from the co-located UVA School of Medicine Inova Campus. Teaching methods include Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) and customized study plans to prepare students for real-world practice.
Connected to Richmond
Students at the VCU Inova Campus stay engaged with both Inova and the Richmond campus activities through real-time interactive videoconferencing. All classes are broadcast and recorded live on Canvas, ensuring flexible access to educational content.
Comprehensive Student Services
Students on the Inova Campus for their P3 and P4 years have access to a fitness facility, health care services through a private practice group, mental health support and counseling services.
Prime Location and Networking
Located near Washington, D.C., the Inova Campus offers extensive career and networking opportunities. Proximity to the nation's capital connects students with major organizations such as the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Pharmacists Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health and United States Pharmacopeia.
