Describe your teaching style.

I try to engage my students in active-learning exercises that will best prepare them for their future pharmacy careers. I try to make learning fun through role-play, occasionally dressing up as a character from a show, and incorporating clinical pearls before each of my lectures.

Why did you choose this career?

I taught eighth-grade science before applying to pharmacy school. During pharmacy school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in academia. I love being an educator, helping students to acquire knowledge with which they might attain their life goals.

You received the school’s 2017 Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.

This was truly the greatest professional honor that I could have ever hoped to receive. I wish to thank both the students and the faculty who nominated me for this award and their vote of confidence in my teaching abilities.
