Mission Statement

Our Center aims to alleviate the tremendous personal, familial, and societal burden of mental illness by using state-of-the-art genomic technologies to identify molecular markers that can be used to develop new medications and tailor treatment to individual patients.

CBRPM At-a-Glance

  • Our research is guided by the ultimate aim of reducing the tremendous human suffering wrought by psychiatric disorders, and childhood abuse and neglect.
  • Rapid advances in genomic technology are revolutionizing biomedical research and will profoundly influence health care in the next decade. Our research is on the forefront of these developments in psychiatry.
  • We operate from a strong multidisciplinary perspective, blending advanced laboratory, computational, biological, statistical, and clinical expertise.
  • Since its inception in 2006, we have been awarded more than $20 million in 22 competitive federal grants led by CBRPM faculty. This corresponds to a 2,500% return on investment for our university.
