With over 50 full-time faculty, the VCU School of Pharmacy was founded in 1898 and is Virginia's oldest school of pharmacy. The School offers the only Ph.D. curriculum in Pharmaceutical Sciences in Virginia, with tracks in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacotherapy, and Pharmacy Administration.
The Pharmacy Practice Residency is a twelve-month program designed and structured to provide the organized health care practice community and the pharmacy profession with knowledgeable, creative, and resourceful practitioners who can provide direct patient care services in an institutional practice environment. Healthcare Policy Fellow Program focuses on legislative policy analysis and development.
Continuing Education for the profession of pharmacy is a structured process of education designed or intended to support the continuous development of pharmacists to maintain and enhance their professional competence. Continuing Education should promote problem-solving and critical thinking and be applicable to the Practice of Pharmacy.
